Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. (Luke 6:46-48)

Welcome to week two of our “Summer on the High Seas” Sermon series!

We are looking at various causes for the devastating storms that come and test the very foundations that we have built our lives upon. Is your life standing on the solid rock foundation of Christ, hearing, knowing, and acting upon His word; or are you unwittingly building on something else? (Sand)
Last week we looked at the storm Jonah faced and saw that sometimes we wind up suffering terribly because of our own rebellious actions. (Jonah ran from the Lord in defiant disobedience.)

Now we will see from the ministry of the Apostle Paul (See link below) that there are times when our lives are disrupted by horrific storms that happen as a result of living on a fallen planet with other fallen and sinful human beings. What are the unique temptations that come when we suffer because of the actions of another? How do we survive in these cases and what is God’s will for us in the midst of these storms?
