We have been taking an extended look at the instruction from James in James 1 to, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

After setting his readers straight on the issue of blaming God or anyone else for the temptation to sin, James goes a little farther now by describing exactly what happens when we are tempted with the desire to do things that God has not approved. He is warning us in particular not to give in to temptation in the face of difficult trials, a time when we may be even more susceptible to the idea of taking a little break from godly living.

I hope you will join me this Sunday morning as we consider some powerful scriptural imagery regaurding sin, its consequences and how freely we should proclaim the gospel of grace.
