Sunday Morning Preview - May 22, 2016

This Sunday at Dakota we will continue our study in the book of James by further examining chapter 4:13-17. The passage has lead to a number of doctrinal points that are culminating in a need to explore the five major points of Calvinism, more commonly known as “tulip”.

  • T - total depravity
  • U - unconditional election
  • L - limited atonement
  • I - irresistible grace
  • P - perseverance of the saints

Please join me for what is sure to be an interesting time in this 25th instalment in the Epistle of James entitled; “If the Lord Wills - Part 3.”

Sunday Morning Preview - May 15, 2016

This Sunday at Dakota we will continue our study in the book of James by further examining chapter 4:13-17.

Last week we studied the overwhelming scriptural evidence in support of the doctrine of the Sovereignty of God. He is undeniably Lord over all creation and nothing happens that is outside of His control. Now we will look at some of the ways this reality works itself out life and practice.

If God knows all and controls all; what difference do we make, and how can we be held responsible for our sin?

Please join me for this 24th instalment in the Epistle of James entitled; “If the Lord Wills - Part 2.”

Sunday May 8, 2016 at Dakota Community Church

This Sunday at Dakota we will continue our study in the book of James by diving into a little seven sentence paragraph that is so packed with important theological truth that we will require at least a couple of weeks to consume it.

A common practice amoung believers in our day is to make bold “declarations of faith” in prayer; is this really a biblically sanctioned idea?
What does it mean to say that God is sovereign, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent? How do these truths about God relate to human free will or responsibility for sins committed or decisions made or actions taken or not taken?

Please join me for this 23rd instalment in the Epistle of James entitled; “If the Lord Wills.”
